Lack of Progress in America

The social progress of the 1960’s in the black community took place were there was not white resistance. In areas in the United States were white resistance was less African Americans were able to show their progress to grow and learn. In communities that tolerated white resistance black women and men had little economic progress because of white hierarchy. Most of the programs that were implemented to help minorities during the 1960’s did very little to stabilize the black community. They did not improve the wages of black women until the civil rights movement put pressure on Congress for equality. The Civil Rights Movement had a direct impact on discrimination throughout America.
