The Overpowering Measure of Sexual Abuse

African American women have been part of a brutal sexual structure since they arrived in America. European men sexually abused African women simple for reproduction and economic production. Slaves had no choice but to submit to their masters and anyone that he wanted them to have sex with. Men have used sex as a position of power to rule and control their spouse and as a way to compel another person. The abuse that African Americans received during slavery still has an affect on the lifestyle of their ancestors. African American women were looked down on and treated like savages because of their physical appearance. Slaves oppressed African slaves and kept them in bondage for the purpose of gaining financial power. The sexual exploitation and behavior was implanted for the purpose of control and pleasure. There have been cases were students have been pressured into performing sexual pleasures for grades. Some employees have been sexual harassed for the purpose of being promoted. The unforced desire that African American receive is a big issue in minority communities today. African American women have systemically become survivors of racism, sexual exploitation, and domestic violence. Some women have blamed themselves for the actions of their attackers which is something that is commonly associated with sexual abuse. It is important for women to realize that sexual misconduct is not their fault.
